SPRING 2018 – Parent and Guardian CAASPP Reminder Letter

Dear Parent/Guardian,

This is a reminder that your child will be participating in the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) System, in English, Math, Science if in 8th grade and Spanish if enrolled in our Dual Language program or if they meet the criteria. To ensure that your child does their  best, make sure that your child is on time to school  and schedule all appointments  after school hours, if at all possible. Below, you can review the schedule for specific dates and times for your child’s teachers.

Somethings you can do to help your child get ready for the CAASPP:

  • Talk about the test with your child, make sure that they are not anxious or scared.
  • Tell your your child that you and your child’s teacher have high expectations of them, and that you are both there to help, every step of the way.
  • Take a practice test in English, Math, Science if in 8th grade,  and Spanish at  http://www.caaspp.org/practice-and-training/index.html
  • Make sure that your child gets a good night’s sleep and remind them to eat their breakfast and lunch.

Thank you for all you do to partner with us in your child’s education.  If you have any questions regarding CAASPP, please contact Victor Flores, Magnet Coordinator at (323) 266-7400 or vxf5671@lausd.net.

Thank you,

Rose Anne Ruiz, Principal
